Medardo Rosso on display in Milan until May 31

Rome, Apr 8 (NITN): The Italian artist, who gave sculpture the opportunity to vibrate and impress as much as painting, is on display with his outstanding works in Milan: the Galleria d’Arte Moderna hosts “Medardo Rosso. La luce e la materia” from 18th February to 31st May.
Thanks to national and international loans, this solo exhibition offers a selection of sculptures and photographs enabling the public to gain an ample vision of his poetics and of his artistic evolution through various thematic sections leading from his beginnings to the main experiments on matter.
The combination with photographs also allows a better understanding of his studies on light and matter itself.
Milan therefore pays homage to one of its major artists Medardo Rosso, who was born in Turin, but he moved to Milan with his family in 1870 and studied art at the Brera Academy), and inaugurates another step of the “Expo in città” (Expo in the City) program addressed to all those visiting the Lombard capital during the Universal Exposition, who will therefore be able to enjoy the beauties of the city; its theatres, fashion street, modern architecture, museums and classic treasures such as The Last Supper in Santa Maria delle Grazie, declared World Heritage by Unesco.
