Kolkata based fashion store offers an extensive range of women's wedding attire Wedding fashion

Kolkata: Wedding shoppers in Kolkata now have one more boutique address to check out before they finalise their selection of attire.

Ummaira, owned by Debroopa Bhattacharya, is located in south Kolkata.

In Persian, Ummaira means ‘blessed with a long life’.

They have an extensive collection of attires – saree, blouse, ethnic gowns, kurti, and lehenga, which makes it convenient to plan for the entire event without running to different stores.

Use of comfortable fabrics sourced from different parts of India, vibrant colours and exquisite embroidery are the hallmarks of their clothes, according to the brand.

Material used range from silk to pashmina, styles from ikkat to paat, from patola to katan, from bandhej to muga, from chanderi to jamdani, and more.

“We intend to scale up production and reach out to women not only for weddings but also for every occasion,” said Bhattacharya.

Talking of actor Tnusree Chakravarty draping Ummaira’s handwoven Khadi Georgette Benarasi recently, Bhattacharya said, “This saree is not just an apparel but a saga of rich cultural heritage that celebrates the craft of hand weaving and the richness of organic colours.”
