 Dubai is the latest muse of Indian travellers
Kolkata, Aug 19 (NITN) According to the latest Hotels.com Hotel Price Index (HPI), Bangkok, which ranked number 1 consecutively for 2 years for being the most preferred overseas destination by Indian travellers, loses out to Dubai in the first six months of 2014.

Other South East Asian countries that saw maximum visitors were Singapore, Hong Kong and Pattaya. London (UK), New York (US) continued to retain 4th and 5th spot respectively.

Paris, which ranked the 10th position in the H1 2013, has moved upwards to the 8th position, dropping Las Vegas and Kuala Lumpur to the 9th and 10th position respectively.

Among Indian destinations for overseas travellers, while Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Jaipur continued to reserve the top 7 spots, Kolkata, which is locally regarded as the intellectual and cultural capital of the nation, was the new entrant at 8th spot. Agra which was at 9th position in the first half of 2013 did not make it to the top 10 destinations for travellers from overseas this time.
