Kolkata, Feb 5 (NITN): KK’s Fusion on Monday organized Fusion Food & Musical Musings, an event that witnessed infusion of classical music with live preparation of fusion food at its Swabhumi outlet in Kolkata.
The afternoon witnessed an unique amalgamation of continental cuisines blended with Indian classical music.
A fusion of vocalist Pandit Ramesh Narayan was supported by his daughter Madhushree Narayan and Aditya Narayan Banerjee in tabla and Pradeep Rozario, owner chef at KK’s Fusion.
Ramesh Narayan is a Limca Book of World Record holder in the year 2014, for a 36 hours continuous performance as part of 100 years of Indian Cinema at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

Talking about this unexampled initiative, Ramesh Narayan said, “This is my first ever performance in Kolkata, I have heard a lot about the audience of Kolkata. The audience here is very knowledgeable about classical music. When I was being informed by the organisers about this concert, a fusion of classical music with food, it kept me wondering. In the past I have done a lot of fusion concerts but something like this is a very new thing for me. I kept on wondering how to infuse classical music with food.”.jpg)
“To be a good singer you need to be a good cook. In the past one had to cook food for their mentors, based on that taste of your food the mentor would have trained you. This is going to be one of the most unique experiences of my life,” he added.
Pradeep Rozario, owner chef, KK’s Fusion said, “When I was young I use to listen to the radio while having my food. It adds a different flavour to the food. I am sure most of us prefer having our food while watching the TV or listening to the radio, I feel there is some kind of connection between our food and music. This feeling of mine gave birth to such a unique amalgamation."
