Bengaluru, Aug 3 (NITN): Kolkata-based Ascon Infrastructure India Ltd has started granite processing and manufacturing unit at Devanhalli in Bengaluru.
The investment as on date is Rs 10 crores approx. with future expansion plans. The unit's present production capacity is 1.5 Lakh sq.ft.
The granite is procured from a nearby mine in Devanahalli and the granite being processed is called Zeera White Granite also known as Sadarhalli White Granite.
The unit is manufacturing commercial granite Slab, second grade commercial granite slab, medium grade granite slab, super medium granite slab and fresh granite slab.
Major airports like Kolkata, Bengaluru and Dubai are using this form of granites.
Ascon Granite has already started selling in Dubai, Bangladesh in Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and others.
The production is of three varieties as Polished, Unpolished and Flame.
Laxman Jaiswal Chairman & MD of Kolkata based Ascon Infrastructure India Ltd, said Karnataka being one of the leading states in India and and an edge with its range of colors, because these products are unique to the region they are produced.
A granite color quarried in India almost certainly will not be available in any other part of the world, Jaiswal added.
