The dish was the winning recipe by MasterChef Asia’s Indian contestant, Priya Barve during the special AirAsia challenge where contestants were asked to prepare their favourite meal discovered on their travels.
Served hot and fresh, this new dish features appetizing flavours that are bound to tantalize the palates of AirAsia’s guests.
The savoury Stuffed Paratha with Dhal and Tomato Chutney will be available for on-board purchase for only INR 230 on select AirAsia (AK), AirAsia X (D7), Thai AirAsia (FD), Indonesia AirAsia (QZ), Philippines AirAsia (PQ), and AirAsia India (I5) flights starting from now onwards.
AirAsia Group Head of Inflight Ancillary, Ramani Balan said, “We are thrilled to have a winning recipe dish from the AirAsia Challenge on MasterChef Asia - The TV Series in our selection of hot meals on-board our flights. Our aim is to provide the best flying experience with a fantastic product offering to our guests. Flying is no longer just about getting from one point to another, it is an experience in itself and we hope this introduction makes our guests’ experience that much more special.”
“AirAsia launched a brand new in-flight menu ‘Santan,’ which is in line with our move towards being a high value carrier and providing our guests with an enhanced gourmet experience while flying. The introduction of Stuffed Paratha with Dhal and Tomato Chutney inspired by MasterChef Asia – The TV Series, is a testament to that commitment,” added Ramani.
In addition to the Stuffed Paratha, other items available for on-board purchase on AirAsia flights are Shepherd's Pie in conjunction with the Christmas season as well as the Thai Basil Chicken with rice & the Javanese Ayam Penyet with rice; while new pre-book meals are Tomato Rice with Ayam Percik, Nasi Dagang with Chicken Curry and Bukhara Chicken Briyani.
AirAsia X has also included the Roast Chicken with Cream Sauce as part of the Christmas offering, Breakfast Frittata & Japanese Chicken Curry with Rice while AirAsia X pre-book meals are Mac and Cheese with Chicken Meatballs & Kamal's Mee Goreng Mamak to its in-flight meals menu
