Garden Café in Alipore is offering a special menu to mark Independence Day, featuring South Indian dishes presented in the colours of the Indian national flag.
The café, known for its traditional South Indian cuisine, has created a “Tricolour Menu” for the occasion. The selection includes tricolour idlis, tricolour dosas, a special pizza based on a homemade family recipe, and finger-fried idli.
According to the establishment, the dishes are prepared with natural ingredients to reflect the saffron, white, and green of the Indian flag.
The initiative blends a patriotic theme with familiar flavours, offering diners a festive culinary experience on the national holiday.

Speaking about the occasion, café owner Mr. Sandip Nowlakha shares, “Food has a beautiful way of bringing people together. Through these simple yet meaningful dishes, we want our guests to enjoy the flavours of freedom and unity.”
The event will be held on 15th August (Friday) from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm. Price per person is Rs 150.
Garden Café is one of the oldest cafes in Kolkata which blends tradition and creativity in their menu. It is one of the first eateries to introduce pizza to Kolkata. Since 1982 it has offered 108 varieties of Dosa.
It has a minimalistic décor, an open-kitchen, and showcase rotating art exhibits. It can host around 85 guests and has a dedicated parking area enough to accommodate over 50 cars.
