Previously, Primarc's 'Astitva' residential project has been awarded with a pre-certified ‘Gold’ rating in the 'Green Building' segment in CREDAI awards 2015. Also, it's 'Southwinds' residential project has been certified earlier by IGBC as a Silver-rated green home.
The establishment of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) in 2001 was to look specifically into residential real estate sector and promote the idea of green homes.
The idea is to reduce the carbon footprint by coming up with innovative alternatives in both the construction and maintenance of the buildings. India houses a population that is second largest in the world after China. It's not really rocket science to understand that per day energy and natural resource consumption by such a large population is extremely high.
With the phenomena of excessive consumption of resources by the Indian population, amidst absence of alternate sources of energy which are cheaper to avail, the situation might get out of hands real soon. There is a strong need for conservation of energy and resources by each and every sector of the Indian market, especially the real estate sector.
After a residential project's scheme is submitted to IGBC, it calculates the points on the basis of its credentials to be called as a 'Green Home' and then provides the pre-certificate for rating. The credentials depends on the project's location, budget, branding of organization and willingness to be eco-friendly.
Gangetica has been awarded this certification for its provision of sewage treatment plant (STP) and water treatment plant (WTP); rainwater harvesting pit which is crucial in conserving and recycling of rain water for consumption; and usage of fly ash bricks as by product element which is less in expenditure and also more environment friendly.
Added to the highlights of its construction is the usage of C.P fittings (plumbing fixtures) with low flow range which helps in saving more water with a low flow; and application of low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) internal paint (common area) and since high VOC in paints cause dizziness and headaches, paints used for Gangetica homes are low in VOCs.
Gangetica will be structured with amenities such as, indoor games room; gymnasium and fitness zone; library; indoor toddler's zone; community hall; 24 hours of filtered water supply and firefighting arrangements.
